I just picked up a 2002 Ranger 2wd 4cylinder very cheap. The trans in the truck is completely out. I went to get a trans for it and ended up picking up one that was for a v6. I was able to get my money back so now trying to find out which trans I actually have. I have read that the 4cylinders have two different model trans due to a electrical plug. The sticker on my trans has been knocked off and can’t find anything else identifying it. How else do I find out if it is the 1L5P-CA or the 2L5P-CB. Any help will be very appreciated

You may be able to identify which trans you have by the shape and number of pins on the trans thru connector. Alternatively, your local dealer should be able to look it up with your VIN and tell you exactly what you have.

If you PM me the VIN I should be able to look up the part number on the trans.
