Man, I haven't been on here in forever! A small update, the motor is in and running. The motor has plenty of power. Honestly with how the old one ran, I'm supposed it lasted as long as it did. Currently I'm dealing with a power steering pump issue. Its blown the high pressure hose twice and it's stripped out the threads both times. Any suggestions?

I have the old hose that was on there, so do I just compare them and if they don't match up then that's my issue?

Update: Unfortunately the truck is no longer mine. I ended up selling it last year due to it needing a lot more work than I could do at the time. I ended moving out of state and couldn’t make the trip back and forth to just tinker with it, and didn’t have room for it up here. Then when the pandemic hit I lost my job and literally was scraping by. I’ll definitely miss the ole girl but had to let it go. I ended up picking up a Toyota in the mean time and then sold it for way more than I had into it. I’ve been wanting to get back into a ranger for awhile now so hopefully soon!

I posted in another section of the forum but i figured i might have better luck in here...

I know that 1st gen and 2nd gen bodies are similar, but can you swap a 1st gen front clip on a 2nd gen? I've been wanting to get back into a Ranger for awhile, and ideally want a 1st gen extended cab. I've got a line on a pretty clean and straight 2nd gen and if its relatively simple I might just buy it and swap the front end later. As far as parts I would assume that it would be fenders, hood, grille, lights, and core support? Thoughts?

I’m not 💯 sure but you may not have to swap the core support. That’s a pretty big pain. It’s spot welded in like 50 spots each side.

The holes for bolting the fenders on don't line you would have to do some modifying to do what you are contaplating

That would be ideal considering the time it would take from start to finish.

Thanks, I actually ended up selling the blue truck and am currently looking into starting another project.

Interesting,of course what looks like it'll work doesn't always go as planned.
