Mounting shocks to lower link

Hey everyone this is the last touch on the sas on my 86 b2. Got f250 shock towers and mounting the shock to the lower link mount is possible but the angles just look much better if I welded the mount to the lower link just before the mount. Wondering if this is a bad idea and if my shocks would still work properly, here are some pics of what I’m talking about:

It works ok if you’re running bushings. With spherical joints or heims the shock will kick the link over because it’s higher that the link centerline. Look at trailing arms to see how the shock bolt is below the link center line.

Well I welded it on and the shocks seems to be working fine.. I guess time will tell if they wear out quickly or not..

Your shocks won't wear out quicker with this configuration. The closer you can get the shock to 90 degrees to the frame [at ride height] the better they will work.
