I hope Will Wills sees this
Will featured my truck in the May 2004 issue of the Ranger Station journal. I'm pleased to say that this truck is still on the road and working well. Winter starting issues were solved by abandoning the use of the recommended oil of the time and replacing it with synthetic 10W30. Its lower pour point solved winter morning cranking speed doldrums. The only serious problem I've ever had with the Nissan component is that I've replaced the transmission twice; they are reminders of the low quality of Japanese imports of the 70's and early eighties. Rear brakes and drums & disc pads and calipers about 5 years ago. Last year, I had to put new carrier bearings into the rear end. I also did a quickie body job on it in hopes of getting two more years out of the truck which would take me to retirement.
Now, more than ever, the fuel economy from this truck and engine combo saves me a pile of money.
