Hey all,
I'm having a weird issue wiring up new fog lights on my 93 Splash. I bought a kit that includes all new wiring and a relay. I wired up the switch in the cab and it was working fine(illuminated). I then ran new power and ground to each new fog light. I had it working for a bit and then something happened. Now, the only way I can get the fog lights to turn on is if I ground the relay, then ground the light to the relay ground that is touching the chassis ground and pull them both off the chassis ground. If I ground the light to the same spot the relay is grounded it won't light up only if it's touching the connector on the relay ground and pull them both off the chassis ground together. Once the Relay ground and light ground are separated from the chassis ground then it turns off.
The relay clicks when I just ground the relay but not if the light and relay are grounded. The light on the switch in the cab no longer illuminates but still seems to work. I hope this makes sense.
