I have a 89 BII. 2.9 all stock, has 126000 miles on it and the fuel pump went out 11 miles up the mountain, had to coast it 9 miles down until we could tow it home. My question is I took the tank out, and replaced the fuel pump. not fun. Now still no power to the fuel pump, so I replaced the fuel pump relay, when you turn the key on it charges for about 1 sec. then clicks and no power to the pump. Is it suppose to do that until the engine starts, I was told that's normal, for the relay to cycle, haven't put the tank back in yet, want to be sure , before i do. the inertia switch seams to be ok...wiring is fine between the inertia switch and the tank. fuel injection is fairly new to me, i'm still a carb kinda guy. thanks in advance..
