anyone heard of a ford ranger sportline.my ranger I just purchased had these badges on it.any clue if this was an option in the later 80s rangers

I did a search for "Ford Ranger Sportline" and 2 websites said "1987 Ford Ranger Sportline" but neither had any information.

I agree...we need some pics!

it may be badges someone put on it.i ll try to post pics soon.inside looks just like a base ranger like someone already said.besides having factory deep dish 14 inch wheels,and factory front and rear sway bars.not sure if that came as an option on the custom model rangers or not in 1987.

I had a Ferrari Ranger at one point but someone stole the Ferrari stickers and it lost a lot of value...:)

Did you actually go see this before buying it or was it sight unseen?

sight unseen. I didn't buy it because of the sportline badges.i bought because it as so clean.it has less rust on it then my 2013 tundra has.frame has oem coating still on it.cleaniest 1 I've ever seen not messed with that is.

Yeah, that was probably a dealer gimmick. That was the thing to do in the 80s, slap stupid after-market or custom made badges and try to sell the vehicle for more.
