Hello all!

Just bought myself a 1989 Ford Ranger 4x4 XLT with 115K miles, and experience tells me that joining a good forum will be a necessity haha. It needs some work, but I'm pretty handy with a wrench so I'm hoping to do as much of the repair by myself as possible. So far my list is as follows (not necessarily in a prioritized order).

-4 wheel drive is not engaging. Switch light not coming on, and 4 wheel drive light not coming on.
-Steering has a lot of play in it
-Radiator fan has multiple cracks (parts on order)
-Tail pipe has rusted through
-Rear differential gasket needs replaced
-Oil pan gasket needs replaced
-Engine temp is running cool (suspect thermostat) (parts on order)
-Heat is not hot (again, thermostat)
-Passenger window motor needs replaced
-Radio display dim (going to replace the bulb) (parts on order)
-A/C not cold (not too worried. May mess with it, or may just do a a/c delete and not even bother with it)
-Topper needs new struts (parts on order soon)
-Tailgate latch not opening (parts on order)
-Alternator belt is really bad. Rest of the belts are not good (parts on order)
-Radiator bushings bad. (parts on order)
-Passenger door lock actuator needs replaced
-Rear suspension bushings need replaced
-Driver seatbelt doesn't retract well. However if you open the driver door, it will retract. Odd.
-Needs decent wiper blades
-Fuel system cleaner
-New fuel filter (parts on order)
-Need to check spark plugs and wires
-Front bumper dented in
-Paint is very faded and peeling

So I have my work cut out for me!!

Your truck sounds a lot like mine. I was fortunate to find a '90 at the pull-a-part yard and picked up a bunch of parts I needed.
Good luck with your repairs.
