I'm pretty sure the b-2 beams pivot points are the same as a b-2 4wd. But I dont know the exact difference. I've read that this makes it easy to convert a b-2 from 2wd to 4wd.

svt,

83-94 Ranger, BII and Explorer all have interchangable suspension components.

Bronco II (2wd and 4wd) both interchange with 4wd Ranger and Explorer.

2wd and 4wd Ranger do not interchange with each other.

Never thought about the 2wd Explorer but the 4wd interchanges with 4wd Ranger.

2wd Ranger drop beams won't fit a 2wd Bronco II.

the only difference I know of is the front axle, I believe in 1989 or early 1990 some rangers switched to the dana 35 front end from the dana 28, some bronco 2s also got the bigger front end but it's rare. Again I'm no expert but from my experience swapping around junkyard parts, there is no difference with 4wd trucks. If you get into a 2wd to 4wd conversion maybe but stock to stock you should be fine. I think there is a compatibility chart on the forum here somewhere, I swear I've seen it a long time ago.

My plan was to find a 2wd bronco ii and put djm 3" drop beams on it from a1st gen ranger.but now not to sure if I even can. I'm kinda surprised no one on here hasn't tried it at all yet.

They are sort of the same, but different. I tried to put a 1986 ranger rear diff in my 1984 BII. It would not fit. The Ranger rearend was 1/2" more narrow on each side, so the leaf spring pads would not line up. And the springs in the rear are way different. The BII rear leaf springs are a conventional solid pack of springs. The ranger rear springs are progressive with large blocks under the u-bolts. The pickup u-bolts are very tall.

Nope. The b-2 2wd uses 4wd suspension parts. Ranger 2wd parts wont work.
In fact, the b-2 2wd uses a dummy transfer case.... who knows why.
