Howdy howdy, new here

So I just bought a new to me 96 2.3 and the paint is in wonderful condition minus a few spots. But the big problem is they used 3M adhesive tape to stick the plastic drop in bed liner. And I hate those so I took it off. I need some help with what u can use to remove the old tape without causing to much paint damage. I don’t mind a few scuffs but trying to keep the paint on the truck till I can get some touch up work done. Thanks everyone!

The 3M adhesive tape is definitely much stickier than the 3M audio or video cassette tapes, as you have seen.

If you have time and patience WD-40 or Goo Gone will work. If you have little of those and a bit more money a rubber wheel is the best thing. It will take the adhesive off quickly, and unless you really over-do it with the pressure it will not damage the paint.

Thank you very much! Hopefully I can find a wheel to get it off with!

Most chain stores carry a 3M one which goes or around $45. I usually grab one or two (depending on my current stock levels) at a car show or swap meet for about $12 each summer. Don't go to a parts store, go to a car show/swap meet where there are vendors. Those cheaper ones you get there work just as well and last a lot longer.
