Default Pilot Bearing Installation Question

hey guys, hows it going?

i have a question regarding a pilot bearing install. ive removed my old bearing (bread trick lol) and im preparing to install the new one, but im unsure how deep to drive it into the crank. ive also noticed that the new bearing has some kind of seal on one side but not on the other, so im curious to the orientation of the bearing and if the side with writing on the sleeve is suppose to face out. i dont want to install anything wrong and have to pull the trans out again, so any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
