I picked up a 87 ranger with a 2.9 and a blown head gasket. I drained all fluids and tore it down to the block. I cleaned everything real good and put it back together. I bought a low budget oil filter and put some used oil "3000 miles" in it. Its running pretty good. I am planning on putting 70 to 80 miles on it. When I get to the mile mark, I am going to re-torque the heads, change the oil and tune it up. I am thinking on sea foaming the block, fuel system and intake. Any other advise on what to dump in the block before I change the oil?

I don't like additives in the oil. I wouldn't do anything but change the oil. Why are you going all crazy trying to clean it? Oil will clean all by itself. Change it with some cheap oil a few times and then buy some good name brand oil.

Sea-foam works good. Been using it in my 2.9 each oil change for the last 2.5- 3 years. Other than that, I wouldn't get to crazy on additives prior to the oil change. After the oil change, i'd recommend utilizing a liter carton of that super thick Lucas oil stabilizer to a good quality 10-30 engine oil. filter wise, a Motocraft FL-1A is more than sufficient.
