This is for 1986 but may be the same. Check the upper corners.

hi bert, thanks for the wire dia. that is the same one i had linked to.

what i am needing is if the wire pins in the block are traced back to the proper sending units, grounds and such. I only want to repin the block once when i swap the block into the 85 case from using the 83 case.

here is a link to the full thread if these pics help any.

post 17 shows a bit more.

Ford uses the same color wires all the way through those years, even into the 90's if that's what you mean.

Is your question about where the lines go where you have question marks?

Be careful with black wires. There is a solid black wire that is power to the gauges. It is a 9-ish ohm resistor wire and comes out of the ignition switch. If you don't have it in place none of the gauges will work, if you replace it with a regular wire you will burn the circuit board.

I think the ground for the cluster stuff is actually black/white.

hi bert, yes questioning the ones with ? marks and also wanting conformation that the others are correct. i am guessing i have it pretty close to right. pink wire is actually purple though.

hi adsm, the only gauge i was going to use the original wires were going to be the fuel sending unit (aftermarket fuel gauge). the temp, and oil are going mechanical, and going to be directly wiring the amperage.

the ground wire you are talking about, is that needed for the fuel? if so, is it the pin with 2 black wires on it? i didn't see any black/white wires, just solid black.

thanks
