Gas tank strap rusting out recall for F-150: Ranger too?

After reading the FULL Ford issued recall (the good parts the public doesn't get to see because it doesn't matter to them, like exact production runs and technical info) the affected trucks were built at certain plants between certain dates and have apparently had more issues with strap replacement in those production ranges than outside them. Hence the recall.

from what i remember ssin on the news it was like 5 trucks that it happened to. if your in the salt belt, stuff is just going to be ate away, its as simple as that. even if you do rinse the underneath once a week in the winter, i did and still needed spring hanger brackets. my straps are gone, tank is held up by the skid plate. seems really silly to do a major recall like that over 5 incidents, and for something that will happen eventually no matter what. you cant make everything out of plastic.

just really read your post after making mine, sounds like a batch of bad steel. (probly from china)
