Would I be better off buying a salvage 5.0 and using the fuel injection to get about 450-500hp.or a old 302 and putting a carb and cam like I used to do 30 years ago.and if I go with new model 5.0 do i have to use the computer to run the fuel injection or use the new motor and put a carb on it.or does someone make aftermkt to run the fuel inj.and is there a distributor set up that works without computer I'm 63 yrs old and have building old school motors since my teens I want to put it into a datsun240z thanks

If you're putting it into a 240Z, I'd just go carbureted and keep it simple. Plenty of distributor options for a 302.

The "new production" Coyote 5.0?

If so it will hold the power better, structurally you are going to at the limit of what a pushrod 302 block can safely take.

But a Coyote is physically huge.

Check into a 351W, slightly bigger than a pushrod 302 but has a far stronger block.

They also make fuel injection kits that look like a carb that are pretty reasonably priced too.
