2003 to 2008 3.0l Vulcan engine, from Ranger or B3000 of similar years

Then sell the Ranger and buy another Ranger, or pickup truck, with bigger engine if thats what you are after, "more power"

That's the least costly and "best" swap for 2003 Ranger 3.0l

V8 Swap info here: http://www.therangerstation.com/how-to/engines-fuel-systems/

I'm not after extreme power just a decent increase from what I have right now.

My credo
Break it right the first time. Fix it better the next time.

If just a little more power is desired then I say again, fix the 3.0l Ranger sell it and buy a 4.0l Ranger :)

The 4cyl, 3.0l and 4.0l Rangers are different vehicles that share a common name and body parts.
Swapping engine sizes within Ranger options is not economical or practical, since you can go out and buy one already done at the factory

If "more power" is desired then yes, LS1 any version you like, or more practical the 5.0l(302) because loads more info out there on that swap.

I'll have to look into it. Thank you!

I think the 5.0L Ford is a great swap. I have a wimpy 3.0L '02 Ranger, otherwise a great truck. Unfortunately I have no place to do the swap myself.

There must be a shop out there who has done the 5.0 swap before and willing to do more. So it costs say $15K. I can't by a decent truck for that!
