All stripped down...just need to bring home my 1 1/8" socket to get the pinion nut off from work tomorrow, then everything will get steam cleaned and ready for narrowing.

Well as I was already egging out D35 shafts constantly, I didn't see the point of going to the D44. Plus the D35 in my ranger is at that point where it needs all new steering linkage and bushings throughout. Instead of dumping anymore money into it I'm going this route.

So far I'm at a grand total of $123.00 for this D60.

$100.00 for the entire complete 1993 D60 hub to hub
$23.00 for shipping from Alberta for the shortened and resplined axle shaft from Andrew.

If it's a 60 (and it definitely looks like it), I suspect you'll need a 1-5/16" socket for that pinion nut.

And I'd leave it wide and just run H2 rims or something similar.

Nice, you did pretty well on gearing too. Do you have any ideas what suspension setup you will use?

Full width with my wheel base just doesn't work here for wheeling. I think It would still be too wide with the H2's and I really don't feel like having to buy new wheels and new tires, my 36's are still 75% or better. It will end up being right around 62 1/2" WMS to WMS when it's done.

I'm going to be converting it to 5x5.5" bolt pattern and running a Superior gear and axle Super 88 kit in my explorer 8.8.

Going to be regearing both axles to 5.13

Leaning towards a 3 link with airshocks or coils. Air shocks are going to be easier to mound on the axle with the super short drivers side tube.

yeah i suppose, but you can work around the short axle tube by either shaving off the leaf perch part of the housing or just grind it till its round and tie in coil/link mounts etc.
