Did I bend the crankshaft?

I replaced the motor mounts under my 2.9L. To do so, I made a wood cradle to fit the front pulley and jacked it up. Now there is a low rumble vibration. I put a dial indicator on the pulley and while turning the engine with a wrench, I get 0.005” difference. So should I be feeling really stupid about now? The engine has about 100k on it and other than the new vibration, runs pretty good. I also pulled the spark plug wires out of the way and took the distributor cap off to jack up the engine. If I messed up one of the wires, its sure hard to tell it; has plenty of power. Where should I be looking to fix this vibration?
Thanks for your help. Try not to fall out of your chair laughing.:icon_rofl:

I doubt you bent the crank. I have jacked up plenty of engines, and even stored a few, with the crank damper as the supporting piece. Some of those were even 2.9s.

I'm not sure what you did to it though.

The crank on a 2.9 is pretty stout, you sure you didnt screw up the balancer?

Not at all sure. Other than finding another one at the bone yard and swapping it out, how would I tell? Is there someway to tell while the engine is running?

No great way to tell if a balancer is bad. I'd just replace it.

I'd think that .005" is within the runout limit for the balancer itself.

Might be a stupid question but...you sure the noise is actually from the engine? Not from the mounts you just replaced (say, maybe a bit loose or something) and the sound is reverberating thru the frame?

I’ll look again. Thanks for the reminder to double check my work.
