Put some miles on it yesterday, 1st gear lights them up no problem, have to take it easy at times. but it's definitely fun. I would recommend this swap. Even with 3.50 gears it still has pep. Glad i did this swap, going to put about 350 miles on it this weekend.

So this works between the two M5OD-R1 transmissions.

Does this swap work with a M5OD-R1HD?

What about the lower gears from a M5OD-R2?

I have done it with the HD as well, but you must use the HD output shaft and tail housing together. The seal location moved for the added OSS.

The R2 gears are a no go. They are physically larger.

I was hoping the r2 lower gears were a possibility. But not even possible with some machining of the case?

I haven't laid these parts out next to each other, but I'd wager a hefty sum that the inner diameter of the gears is different, in addition to the shift forks not fitting the larger OD, and the R2 shift plate not fitting the R1 case.

The 2.3/29/30 gears are nice against a 4.0.
