I've got a 1999 ranger 3.0 flex fuel and the head gaskets blew and then when I went to start it the other day it knocked real bad now I have no compression I've been trying to find a parts truck that I could take the engine out and I'm wondering what is the difference in the 3.0 I. Different years what years of engine would fit

This has been covered a ton before. If you do a search, you should be able to dig up lots of info.

The basic 3.0 long blocks are interchangeable for all years, even though there have been minor differences. Grab another motor, and put your intake manifolds and fuel injectors in it. Connect all of your sensors, and drive away.
