I have a 99 ranger 4.0 4x4 that will not start unless I jump the solenoid on the starter. I replaced the starter after I took it in and had it tested and it failed. Truck still wouldnt start so I figured it might have also been the ignition switch, replaced that and no luck. Replaced the ignition safety switch along with it to be sure. I turn the key to the on position and everything works, lights, radio ect but no start. All fuses and relays are good. Running out of ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a schematic from the 2000 EVTM which may clear it up for you.

Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send it out.

Basically, you have the 7.5A relay control fuse, the ignition switch, the DTRS (you DID adjust that so the reverse lights come on properly, right?) and the relay coil, then you have the big fuse (50A) the relay contacts, and the YE/LB wire that routes power to the starter to engage the bendix solenoid of the starter.
You already know the big power cable to the starter is good, so it has to be in the relay coil control side of the circuit.
