so guys, I got a 1986 2wd project truck. I have done the explorer axle swap on the rear end and now i want to tackle the front end.
The previous owner already put Belltech lowering beams on it. The thing that has me stumped is I can't seem to see the difference between the 95+ ranger I beams and the 88 and older I beams. Especially when looking where the ball joints are mounted.

the reason I am looking into this is because i want to upgrade to dual piston callipers. any insight on this guys?

The beams do look almost the same, difference is the ball joints. The ball joints on the 83-88 are mounted in the beam. On the 89-97 the ball joints are in the knuckle.

Is it possible PO installed 89+ drop beams, and 89-94 knuckles with single piston calipers? If that is the case it would just need a knuckle swap.
