I'm going to be doing the 1 to 2 piston brake swap soon, and I was just curious, should I buy a 1993 motorcraft master cylinder or a 1997 one that would be the same year as the breaks and other stuff? I currently have a pos AutoZone one I'm using and was just curious is the stock '93 was good, or if a '97 one would be optimal?

Alright so everyone is on the same page as I am, lol (not knowing {or caring}). One more semi related question.. is it worth $180 for a mororcraft master cylinder? I know a lot of the times someone like bendix makes them but they act like it's motorcraft.. I've seen bendix ones for like $50 but I don't know if they're any better then the AutoZone one I have now? Insight is greatly appreciated.

JimRummy:

The '93 master cylinder is 1" od; the '97 is 1-1/16" od. So, the '97 would be optimal after upgrade to dual piston calipers (especially true if you step up to the Sport Trac calipers); but '93 is just fine...
