Headlights make radio display dim?

Hello-

1998 Ranger. When headlights are turned on, the display on the radio gets very dim. Is this normal? If not, suggestions for fixing?

Sounds like your alternator make not be pushing all the volts it should,,, maybe should have it tested and tell them to load it heavy to make sure

Sounds to me like the dash's dimming feature is working. Turn the dimmer switch up.
