Just replaced a bad pressure regulator. Truck is purring along, but I checked the fuel pressure at the rail and I get 30psi even. It takes a few seconds to get to that pressure if I purge it. I'm considering replacing the pump (fuel gauge hasn't worked in years). Should I go ahead and replace the pump, or is 30 psi enough?

30 is fine. My 4.0 engine runs that and no problems. It takes the fuel pump 3-5 seconds to build up pressure. If it gets to 30 in 5 seconds or so, leave it alone.

Unfortunately, it takes more like 30-60 seconds to get to 28-30. Went ahead and replaced the pump tonight (not losing sleep since it also fixed the fuel gauge) and the problem persists. Not convinced the gauge isn't wiggy, but even if I gust push the valve in the schraeder calve after letting the pump prime, The squirt that comes out is NOT at 30psi.

I'm down to clogged fuel line or badly leaking injector I guess? Even with questionable fuel pressure, truck seems to run rich and regularly bogs at idle. I've already been through the ignition top to bottom about 3 times.
