Hey guys I went to pick and pull today and pulled this IFS axle from a 2002 ford explorer xlt 4x4 but the id tag is missing so I was hoping for some help figuring out what it is exactly. These are the numbers from the last picture as far as I can tell 0833-2 163 217:37

U can identify it because it came in a explorer. The diff covers are egg shaped on 35s and simetrical too. It's a low pinion iirc

Yup, when Explorers went to true A-arm IFS, they switched to a D30 differential.

Just to clarify, the D30 came about when they went to IRS on the '02 4-door model (the 2-dr Sport continued two more years with a solid rear axle and D35 IFS).

Oh, yeah... Shows what I get for posting in the middle of the night. But I was thinking of the 02+ Explorers. Keep forgetting they went to A-arm IFS in 95's...

Yeesh...
