bronco 2 ttb into 98 mazda b2500

I have a 98 mazda b2500 2wd and i have found a complete 83 bronco 2 minus engine. the dilemma is i want to make my truck 4wd from the parts off the bronco the suspension is no problem i was wondering if the transfer case fits to the mazda trans or do they make an adapter kit for it?

The front suspension is VERY different between a BII and a 98+ truck.

A 1983 t-case will bolt on a 2011 transmission, has to have the 4x4 rear end on it though.

WHy a B2, it has a D28 front end, it would be way better to get an explorer to swap over, It would be the same amount of work, which is going to be ALOT!!!

If you're gonna put that much work into it, You'd be insane not to do a solid axle. Forgetting them both and buying a 4x4 would be a much better idea though.

okay, rather than deter him, why not answer his ****ing question?

Dez: you'll need to either use a divorced transfer case, or try to find a transmission from an older 4 cylinder 4x4 ranger, the one you have won't work.

I suggested the d35 which is the same work just a better result, I nowhere said dont do it, I just said it would be very challenging, If he is up to the challenge I say go for it

i would suggest a SAS, since making a TTB setup to work properly on your frame will invove a lot of work.
if u dont plan to go on big tires and hardcore stuff(its a 4 banger, so it wont go into hardcore stuff imo) a D30 would be a good choice, u can mount it using the stock jeep susp parts as an example to build yours or mod those to fit. (coil spring cherokee or wrangler)

u would need to make an adapter plate to adapt a Ranger/B series transmission out of a v6, or find a 4 cyl 4wd tranny.
i dont know if you can swap the tail of the tranny housing to a 4wd one.
a divorced t case setup sounds good too. with proper building skills i think someone could make the cherokee t case to work as a divorced unit on your truck.

remember to get both axles to run with a matching gear ratio or thing will go bad really fast.

some people do like challenges and to build his truck, not just to go and buy it imo. maybe he doesnt wants/needs a v6.

you would have to swap crossmembers cause you have a-arm suspension and the b2 has ttb......it will be more difficult than just SAS. and there is more to just swapping the tailhousing you have to swap the main shaft and a few other things in the tranny to get it to work with a tcase.

all is good information. my dad has a fabrication shop and i just want a bad truck. the reason i chose a bronco 2 is i can get one cheap from my girlfriends dad. i was talking to my dad about it and i think im going to frame swap the bronco 2 frame under my truck and i want to keep the "mazda" engine for emission purposes. any ideas with that?

swapin the 4x4 into the mazda would most likely be easier than the frame swap. if you want a "bad truck" i would recomend goin with a solid axle v.s. the TTB stuff. or build a prerunner if the truck doesnt really need to be a 4x4? you could build a pretty sweet prerunner with a LSD in the rear and even make bumper to have a removable winch that stowes in the bed and be able to make it pretty far if you drive accordingly. with the time and money to swap ttb stuff into the newer truck you would prolly be further along.

or start building the B2 and use the mazda as a DD the end result should meet emission's and B2's done right will catch most ppl's eye befor a 98 I.M.O.
