Depends on the Ranger's front suspension:

For the 4WD and "Sport" models with the torsion bar springs, then yes, the OEM Explorer mounts and brackets are a perfect fit.

For the coil spring Rangers, you'll need to remove the spacer under the left OEM V6 mount and use custom mounting plates - oh, and drill a new alignment hole for the pin on the bottom of the mount.

It sucks, you've got to drop the front suspension and get the coils out to access the nuts that retain the Ranger mounts.

Do they make adapter plates that I can just bolt on my ranger mounts?

Contact Joe at josephhighlen@yahoo.com. He makes the adapter plates for a 4x2 late Ranger, was $55, uses the 4.0L mounts.

Ya only need to pull the coil springs to get to the mounts -- that means fully freeing the lower control arms.

I chose to pop the upper ball joints, sway bar links and rack/pinion mounting bolts and lowered the contrl arms with the spindles, tie rods and rack attached.

To me, was less risk that trying to pop the lower control arms off the spindles and likely tear up the ball joint boots.
