Does anyone else have one of these?? I bought one not too awfully long ago for a great price. Great truck. Is just an f-350 from the frame up with f-450 axles and suspension. 460 motor and dual tanks. Just curious if anyone else has one. A little odd it's a 10 lug from the factory.

Great beast of a truck. They were mainly utility trucks (10 Lug) from the factory. Is yours optioned as a pickup?

There are a large majority still in use where I am. Tow trucks, bucket trucks, site trucks, dumps, flatbeds, and other utility versions. Haven't seen a pickup version though.

Nope not a pickup. Mine has a 9.5 foot flatbed. I think when they were sold from the factory they were sold as how nowadays a cab and chassis. I'm sure someone has put a bed on one though. I wish I could find some aftermarket wheels for the damn thing but you can't find any small pattern 10 lugs like that. I did some searching last night and found out they were never even made with 4x4. The ones you find every once in a while that are 4x4 (like the tree service trucks) were installed with a kit made by Marmon Herrington. Still can't believe I picked it up for just 2500 though

Just from shooting the shit over the years with guys on and off that had those F450s I was informed that the frame is a bit more narrow than the F350 frame. A few guys tossed around the idea of installing 8 lug axles from the F350 for wheel options but ran into the fact that the axles were not bolt in because of the difference in frame.

The 4x4 conversions from MH were Dana 80 axles, but there were also Dana 70 with 10 lug hubs ive seen. The old Davis tree service F450s some of the guys used to buy were all D70s with an NP205 transfercase and didnt have the MH conversion sticker but the conversion was done right.

Damn. I didn't know the frame was different. Looks like I probably can't put an f350 bumper on could i?

Ill ask around next time those guys are on one of my jobs. Off the top of my head though I do not know if bumper mounts, cab mounts, and bed mounts line up at all between the 350 and 450.
