Bama boy:
Read Jbrown1238's One more 2wd .... thread. He goes into the detail on installation of the T5 (cutting floor, hydraulic clutch, transmission mount, etc).
As Bobbywalter was expressing: '97-04 M5OD R2 from V-6 F-150 is identical shifter/transmission mount/clutch connector/drive shaft position. If you don't have fabrication skills; that is the manual to use - everything is a bolt in. Using a donor Explorer just replace the 4R70W automatic/torque converter/flex plate with 5.0 flywheel/clutch/pressure plate/manual transmission.
I'm soft on M5OD not being as much fun (I've replaced too many T-5s in buddy's 'stangs). Also, I occasionally use my Ranger as a truck; and the lower 1st gear is nice. (I went with higher ratio rear end for better mileage).
Note: M5OD R2 out of '94-95 T-bird SC might be best of lot - 1st isn't as low/5th is higher OD....
