Do you guys think a front mount receiver for a 1989 ford ranger will fit on a 88 bronco II? I think 1989 was when they changed the front end of the ranger and bronco II, but did they keep the same chassis? The reason i ask is because i know the rear tow hitch from a 88 ranger fits on a 88 bronco II, so i figured a front hitch would also fit, but im not sure about the 89....anyone here know?

chances arent as good as you hope, since the front end of the frame changed from 1st gen to 2nd because of the bumpers. i dont know if that means it wont fit.... but i wouldnt count on it.

btw, i made mine out of a rear reciever for a newer ranger (freebie) and some 4" angle iron. if you have access to a welder and a grinder, it should be a piece of cake.

The main thing i am concerned about is as you said, the front mount hitch for a 89 ranger attatches with 3 bolts on each side. Two are over or under the sway bar mount, and the third looks like it is on the side of the frame....i think im gonna make a trip down to the local junkyard and just compare and measure the front mounting points for the hitch on a 89 and see if they are the same for a 88....ill let you guys know what i find
