I convinced my girlfriend to fix up my old 1997 ranger that I parked on the side of the house(97k miles!) instead of buying her a new commuter car. Battery, sparks, wires, flushed radiator, oil etc. It runs great, except the timing is a little off at idle. Gonna fix that tomorrow with my neighbor. The problem I forgot about was I pulled fuse 13 to get it moving last time I moved.
Fuse 13 on the 97 disables the anti-theft but it also disables the break lights. I have torn my house apart for the last 3 days looking and I cannot find my clickers. I have also looked on ebay/amazon for a replacement, but I can't find one similar there either.
What I need: Either a work around for the anti-theft that doesnt require me to start it fuse out and let it run for 15 mins before I drive it. Or a good link to a site that sells a replacement clickers. I had it before, but when the battery dies, it defaults to ON.
Guys, it's my first post here and I understand anything I have to take for it. But I seriously tried to solve this on my own to no avail..
last bit of info - manual windows and locks. 97 2.3 4 cyl manual.
thank you if you can help
