Some guy used Plasti Dip Protective coating on his truck. The kit should come in basic colors. It was in the "RBV's Under Construction" (I think) about 6 months ago-

oh yeh forgot about him wanting to keep cost down. Can get a desent paint job done for $400-500 at Maaco shops. If you rattle can it by the time you buy enough paint to get a good covering & enough scotch brite pads to really scuff up the old paint you will have spent close to $300-400. And thats not including the masking tape & paper needed to mask off any windows or trim.

I have tape, sand paper already. All I'll have to tape off is the windows because I'm pulling the bumpers off(making new ones) I think I'll have about 300 in it all together when finished.

go buy 20 bucks in big schotch bright pads and use an orbitol sander with some duct tape and u can have it ready for paint in an hour. just hand sand the edges and dont burn through. dont worry about the glass, just razor blade the over spray off.

ive since touched up or resprayed areas that needed adressed a few times.
you can do this for 100$ or less and if it gets scratched.... spray it again

take pics!

I rattle canned the lower half of my 87 Ranger, went with ExOrust seal brown color.

Looks good to me, but I wasnt too picky with this $200 truck.
