Had a great time, hung out with some cool peeps. I suffered some carnage, a broken rear driveshaft (I carry spares though) a broken headlight and a bent rear main leaf.

I'll get more pics later, i have tons.

I’m really happy with how the bronco held up to the front and rear axle swap, we finished at 1230am on friday, got to loon lake at 2am on Friday morning, slep till 8am and went. It was a little nerveracking with the trial run on these new axles being the rubicon, but she did great.
So far my buddy and I are about $1200 total into this rig.

Specs- 84 bought with a rebuilt 2.8 and rebuilt manual 4 speed. Freshly swapped in a rebuilt dana 30 from and early bronco w/ 410 gears open and a rough stuff diff cover, and a Toyota 8” with 410 gears and welded spiders with a 1/2" thick pipe cap welded to the rear diff all pushing 35" mudders, EB james duff coils, f250 shock mounts up front, bastard b2/exploder pack in the rear with a rough country xj shackle.

That looks like fun. I need to get out to the Con one day. As for the BII very simple, capable machine. great build especially given the budget

Nice pics and rig. I live less than an hour away from the Rubicon and I try to get up there as much as possible. Your rig makes me want to build a B2 into a budget wheeler instead of what I'm building right now. All I gotta do is actually find one that I can build.

Yes, we finished the solid axle swap 7 hours before we hit the con. It had the dana 28 in it the first time we took it up to the rubicon.

Those few above are from the first rubicon mission with the 28 ttb. God knows how we made it through the con then without any breakages. Luck and skilz one migth say.

We wen't with the yota 8" for many reasons, it was easy and cheap to find already set up with 410 gears, i wanted a 3rd member for ease in trail repairs and couldn't afford a nine inch, i found this one complete with 410's welded spider gears and stock 31 spline shafts with drums still attached ready to bolt in for $125 total. AND the leafs linned up with its stock perch locations and stock driveshaft worked perfectly. I just had to redrill the flange on the 3rd member to accept the hole locations on the ford dshaft flange. That and remounting the shock mounts are the only mods i had to do to this axle to make it work. Easiest swap i've ever done, these axles only take 20-30 minutes to fully assemble and there bulletproof for the stock b2 drivetrain. Find me an 8.8 that can do all that for $125.

deff a fun budget beater, my buddy and i split the truck and split the wheeling time. He has the tow rig and i have the garage so it works out. Paid 400 total for it as it looks right above with the ttb, wheeled it for a year like that, and just decided to do front and rear axles a few weeks ago. we now have a total of $600 each into this rig including a full fluid flush and all other hardware and any other expense incurred.

What are your future upgrades planned for it?

cage, air shocks, a front locker or a bigger axle w/ a locker and bigger tires, not sure yet. I have a line up on some free hummer tires that are brand new and 36's but they are for a 16.5" rim so i think i'll trade them for something better as i herd the hummer tires don't flex well.

You ever get your leafs fixed?

Edit: ok stupid question time.... you ready? Where is the Rubicon? I always hear about it but have no idea where it is to wonder if it would even be possible for a road trip to take the Victim out and bust it up.

The Rubicon Trail is in northern California in the Sierra Nevada mountains. I live about 45 minutes west of the most common entrance to the trail.
