so crawled under the explorer today to get started tearing down the front end and noticed that my suspension consits only of a strut, a 2 1/4" swaybar and a bumb stop right above the lower control arm. :icon_confused: It doesnt look like theres any room for a spring either, is this stock? I thought explorers had the same front end as rangers. I was going to modify the suspension anyway but I'm just wondering if ford made the poor design choice or if it was the guy I bought the truck from.

I have this sinking feeling that my suspension swap just went from easy to some serious fab work :icon_welder:

well I was originally going to swap it with an f250 lowering kit, I expected a little cutting and grinding to fit and moving the rear shackle mounts, now I'm thinking I may be better off going to a coilover kit.
