I am looking for a stainless steel exhaust systems for my 1999 Ford Ranger XLT 4 cycl. and would like to know where one can get one.

I did find a used one and would like to know if you would be better off buying a NEW one? The used one is $150.00.

Who would make OME without going to Ford? Amazon has one for $185.00 but I have not heard for this Dynomax 39315 Stainless Steel Exhaust System by Dynomax, has anyone heard of Dynomax?

Is there different qualities of stainless steel exhaust systems?

Gibson offers a stainless catback exhaust. I've been happy with mine, but not sure how it would sound on a 4 cyl.

There are different grades of stainless. Some rust while others don't. Mine has some minor surface rust on the pipes, but the hangers are rusting.

I've been thinking about getting a Gibson S/S exhaust for my truck. I wish I knew what it sounded like on a 4 cyl. I don't want something loud.

ToeJoe- Here's a Gibson on a Lima 4 cyl. Doesn't sound too bad to me.

Buckeyeman- your Duratec engine would sound a little different than what's in that video, but between that, and other Duratec ranger exhaust vids on YouTube, you should get an ok idea of what you'd end up with.

The Youtube video didn't sound too bad. I just didn't want it sounding like some ricer. I noticed when I climbed under the truck that where the exhaust pipe connects to the rear cat, the cat pipe looks like 2" or 2 1/4" and then it drops down to about an 1 1/2". Talk about restriction.

As far as I know only Gibson makes the exhaust out of stainless.

the Dynomax (I have the dynomax exhaust system) only has a welded
on stainless steel tip.

Borla made a system that Ford sold through their Motorsports dealers, but that system is L-O-N-G discontinued.

I intend to buy myself a Gibson Stainless steel exhaust when I have the funds available...

When you are looking at the Gibson exhaust be aware, that they also make their system
out of aluminumized steel, so be sure you are actually ordering the stainless one when you order...

I ordered the Gibson S/S system from Realtruck.com, P/N 619713. I've ordered from them in the past and had good customer service.

Gibson SS cat back exhaust is pricey but is very durable. Mine has been on for over 190,000 miles and works as good as it did new. The pipe has discolored somewhat and almost looks rusty but when you look at it closely it is solid.

Magnaflow is stainless and has a nice sound. It is louder than stock but not annoyingly loud.
