I found this truck (before you look, I have been looking for a Ranger for a Really long time now, but I could not find one in my price range so I looked for alternatives, and this one popped out....

http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/1326005104.html

So the guys wants, that price, but the registration and inspection are out. It needs a new windshield and I think the exhaust or muffler has a leak or something like that. What do you guys think and how much should I offer him.

I know it might not be better looking than the Ranger, but the rangers here in Dallas are really expensive for some reason....

Thanks in Advance

regardless if it has airbags or not, it will still be high!

That is a GREAT truck to start with!!!! I started with a 2.0L Ford Ranger, it is FUN to work the stick!!!

I would check that motor out real good, make sure it does not burn oil/coolant, as it is a FRESH rebuild and still in the break-in period, THAT IS IF HE DID THE REBUILD CORRECTLY!!

(NOT just slap in new bearings, did the whole shabang, bore, cleaning tank, new cam bearings, a full rebuild kit- Some people will just slap in new rings and hone the cylinders, and call it a rebuild!!!)

I would offer about a hundred under their asking price. As for the inspections, I have no Ideal, as I don't need inspections in Illinois.

I'd pass on that if I were you. Try to keep looking. What's your price range?

I mean it is tempting. It is a rebuilt motor.

Well, it somewhere around there. I mean I know I am not going to find the perfect truck for that price, but I know for that price range in is going to need minor engine repair, no AC, and cosmetic work. I think that is fine, but I just can't find one! like that. I think I would go for it if it had registration and inspection up to date. So my price ranger is from 0- around 700 ish. I have looked all over NO JOKE!
