Default 96 f250 truggy

Starting out with a 1996 F250 2wd
D60 5.38's Loc-Rite
14 Bolt 5.38's Lincoln Locked
5.8L e4od hopefully np205 twinsticked eventually maybe 203/205 doubler

Ranger Truggy has been disassembled, frame was all jacked up and bent, the cab was never very good to start out with. So that truggy was like a first draft, learned alot, did alot, now I know what works better and how to do things better. Got purchased for the cab and cage to be used on another project.

That sounds good other than the E4OD. You would be much better off swapping to a C6. I myself prefer to run a 4spd though.

I am a manual trans guy myself I would love to have a ZF in it. Maybe in time. But a good e4od is better then an average c6 for 1st gear. C6's are bulletproof but they sap SO MUCH power. The e4od is what is in the truck and I have it out right now getting a 4wd tailshaft installed and its only costing me a big bottle of Captn Morgan.

Well decided to run a c6 instead of the e4od since I do not have vss for the e4od and I already have a c6 here. I picked up my 205 today. I have Tues off from work and am mostly caught up with my other odds/ends around the house so I hope to make really good head way on the project.

I want to get the trans and tcase as high up as I can as to get the belly as flat as possible, eventually 203/205 but for now I'll just work on a twin stick first. I need to get a few gaskets as to put the engine/trans/tcase back into the truck before I figure on the cross member and where to put coil buckets in the front as to where the susp sits for height.

I have a 203 and adapter from a c6 if you do get to doing the 203/205 combo at a later date.

spent the first half of the morning raking leaves by the garage, just pushed the f250 into the garage.

Removed the exhaust manifolds from the 5.8L so I could remove the broken studs from the y-pipe and the gaskets were leaking on the block. Bolted the C6 to the motor and gonna drop it in shortly so I can get it out of my way and the weight on the susp. Gonna bring the 205 into work so I can remove the broken side mount bolts so I can build a support off the frame/crossmember for it.

I cut the old bungs out of my raduis arms and welded in the new ones. These should be a little harder to bend :teehee: and yes this time around there will be no thread showing on the joint :fish:

Plan to remove factory coil buckets and radius arm brackets tonight. Looks like the gear box gonna get relocated further forward and the front axle is gonna get pushed almost 12"s forward from stock location.
