tranny question

ive got a 95 explorer and of course my trans is junk. in the midst of finding one to replace it i've run in to an issue. the trans code is t but according to the app guide it could either be a 4r55e or a 4r44e how do i tell the difference so i can make the wife happy again

You would want 4r55e. 4r44e was used behind 4 cyl.
