We are getting the 83 C-3 automatic rebuilt, (again) what is the correct type and amount of fluid to refill?
I don't want to run it low or with incorrect stuff. One book I saw said Mercur 2, but I've read various thread opinions on that topic?
Also I want to purge all the old fluid from the lines, converter and radiator/cooler. Any suggestons on that (force it out with an Air hose?).
And finally is it preferable to fill up the converter prior to putting it in the trans and trans in the truck?
What I've read:
stock Converter holds just over 4 quarts
stock c3 holds 8 quarts
Does this account for the lines and radiator/cooler?
