Default seen a weird suspension today?

while i was working today i drove by a ranger that was lifted, i drove slow and noticed that he had what looked to be a big coil spacer on the top of his coils? has anyone ever seen this or know what im talking about? i didnt get a close look at it because i was driving but tomorrow im gonna stop in and have a better look, it looked like a homemade lift just wondering if anyone knows anyone that has done this before and how in hell do u get the coil to stay in place, i got a good offer on some new 35inch mud terrains today so im looking into a homemade lift as my body lift and add a leaf for sure wont fit 35s under my truck..

Just do a really good job?

I'm not too sure what you mean when describing the guys ride but maybe it was coil-over shocks on the front?

looks like it was made in the woods by the same crafty hands that make meth! i have spacers in my front coils, but they are on the bottom and only two inches, you would still have to make some sort of drop bracket.... and that set up wouldnt flex very well, thats like having half a spring.

haha, actually the only drop brackets there are on the truck is for the radius arms, a buddy of mine works with the guy and he said the guy cut some kinda of bump stop on the dana 35 so the tires stay flat? figure that one out lol?

IF there is not drop brackets on the piviots has got to have some sort of cut and turned beam set up.

that spacer looks like somethign off a fullsize doge and mated with a air bag maybe?...
