Default How rare is the Splash? Just curious.

I am the former owner of a 1993 Ranger Splash and my local dealership only received 2 to sell. One black, one performance red. I drove off with the red one. I haven't seen very many around and I was wondering if anyone knows the production numbers. I asked the dealer at the time and he said that there was no way to know the numbers. Just curious. Thanks in advance.

Not rare like GTs.
But I geuss they aren't rare for you.

But there is a splash up the street from me.
It looks nice, but does more sitting than driving.

Aren't some option combinations rare?

the "splash" package itself wasn't very rare, its actually rather common, as for the rarity of certain option combinations? Couldn't tell ya. As far as I'm concerned if its got an operational drivetrain, relatively rust-free, and crank windows. I'm set.

I have one...they're not really rare. AFAIK, most if not every flareside model produced from 93-97 was labeled a splash. Most of these were reg cab 2wd trucks. I was lucky to find a '95 extended cab that was 4wd and had the 4.0L with M50D. Also had all power options available. One of the best years if you ask me as it has the newer interior, but still had the ttb suspension. In 98+ they were labeled sport and in 01+ an edge, but the trim packages werent limited to just the flareside bed.

i wish mine was a splash. I saw a stepside bed at pick n pull and i wanted to buy it and install it on mine. then it would be pretty close.
