I'd start by checking the throttle cable and the throttle body. See if the lever comes to rest against the low-end stop screw.

+1 to spott's suggestion... is it doing it consistently? it is normal for some trucks to have a high idle for way longer than you would think it to have, after it sitting for a while... my 07 idled at 1500ish for about an hour after i left it for a month over christmas...

wd40 will dry out, so as a lubrication, it is not a permanent solution... use some tranny fluid... unless it's just gunk then wd40 is better because it won't leave a sticky residue

interesting... i know silicone spray is NOT a high heat, or even a modarate heat lube... and it DOES catch fire... spray it into a lighter, holy crap, it flames more than butane!
i've never had any of those problems Duane, but i haven't used it all that much, for door seals, you can't beat it... spray a cloth and wipe down your door seals every time you wash your truck, you will NEVER have it start leaking, or have them crack from being dried out
