yes and no.

while they last, they rock.

when they break, they do so spectacularly.

the only issue is i have bad credit and while i could try to put 1,800 down and finance the rest i still have 800 left on my current loan that id need to pay off as i caint float two loans at the same time and id assume the rates an payments on the truck would be higher due to my credit.
have them do a lein payout. roll what you owe into your financing. it maybe will put you up 10 dollars a month. as for rates, you can always get a credit line.

At the risk of sounding dumb and whatnot what's a lein payout? And a credit line?

Well mine seems to be shifting odd but it seems solid as a rock other than that. A few things that people do to kill them include running them in OD all the time. The A4LD's overdrive sprag clutch wasn't that strong so having all the power transmitted though it caused premature wear. And of course heat and low maintenance, throwing a bigger cooler on it and keeping tabs on the fluid helps a lot. Look at Sasquatch_Ryda's truck, he has an A4LD. Although I've been recommended to get a shift kit for mine as added insurance.A few simple things can makes it last, I'm running mine on advice from the transmission guru at work:icon_thumby:

I'd try for a 95+ as the interiors are MUCH nicer looking. Then it'll be OBDII also.

You mount it in the factory location in front of the rad and there are tons of aftermarket coolers available, and tons of other vehicles to pull them off of.

Not everyone who may end up driving or moving my truck may be able to drive a 5 speed.

also people in my town dont have this "driving" concept down and at times i spent more time shifting then making any real progress an that killed the leg and the seething road rage didnt help.

One thing I would add; if your going to get an extended cab, try to get one with four doors. It is much nicer than without.
