How thick is the plate that you used on that? Looks beefy.

Made some more progress on the truck.

I pulled the drop bracket to beef it up so that It wouldnt crack like many super lift brackets do.

This is what I found........

I heated the bracket with the torch to release the stress in it, ground it out, welded where the crack was, and gussetted it.

The frame plating finished.

Cleaning it off before painting, I used brake cleaner.....

It was so cold that the brake cleaner couldnt evaporate.

Primed and painted.

And then I started on mounting the PS pump.

Got some more work done today/tonight.

I found a pulley that would work on my pump.

However, I ran into a problem with the way that I mounted the pump. I have a half inch spacer that makes it a very strong mount setup. I figured this would be offset by the extra 1/2" of shaft length that I had.

Well the pulley center is offset by a half inch........

When I install the pulley, it interferes with the bolts and sits too close to the pump. This pic is with the pulley not installed, just held up to the end of the pump shaft.

So I decided to "adjust" the pulley.

And some gusseting I added to my tranny/rad arm crossmember.

Then I decided to take apart the pump I got from the van just to see how easily the pump reservoir comes off.

The answer was "pretty easy".

And then I painted some shit.

Nawwwww, I only paint the stuff I care about. :icon_twisted:

(The hydroboost unit is also painted as the power steering pump will be.)

If I were swapping in a 4.0 SOHC, I would take the time to paint the motor.
