Hey fellow BII'ers I posted over on TRS but thought I would throw it your way to, I have the tranny 99% free of the chassie but am stuck on the filler tube, does it press in like the service manuals show or does it have a snap ring inside the tranny pan that holds it from poping out? thanks fellas

It presses in but it is bolted to the engine also. That bolt has to be removed to pull the tube out.

Every tube I have seen is two piece. The lower piece just pushes into the trans housing. The upper piece uses one of the trans to block bolts to hold it. At the joint of the two pieces, which is just a push in fit, there is an o-ring.
