PM gpmiller. I know he has a 2000ish truck that will have a good bit of what you want with a blown 4.0.

Oh. Wouldn't that be too new?
I'm thinking, set up the 98 with intake, brackets, electrical, virtually everything that's on the same generation engine in my 94 truck.

I know a friend and me, WILL NOT be putting in engine is this truck. (1994) "someday".

I am " thinking" that a completely set up and ready to drop in engine will save time and cost of whoever I pay to do the job. But that is what I do, think too much LOL

The accessory brackets should all be the same. I don't know about the intake. I know for the Rangers it changed from metal to plastic around 93, but I don't know the exact years. I think he is using the harness, but it wouldn't work for you anyway.

Not a priority at this time, I'm thinking the lower intake is identical, just the upper intake is plastic, which is/was cast aluminum.

I believe '95 was the first year of the plastic upper plenum. The plastic and aluminum ones can be swapped, but I have't seen a plastic one with the intake air temp bung, so you'd have to drill a hole for that.

The lower intakes are the same.

You might be right about 95 being the change over year.

I know when I was looking I was after an aluminum EGR intake, and so Rangers were mostly ruled out, and I was looking exclusively at Explorers.

Where you at, local to me? what I'm looking to do is get this low mileage engine we have in storage set up for the day when we ultimately have it dropped into the truck I just picked up.

would be worth a trip to the pick and pull. I use Gary's U Pull it. Colesville Rd Binghamton, NY. They're off I81 just north of the PA border in NY.

This is in no means a shameless plug for them... There's a lot of good older vehicles there.. and price is good. They even have yard guys that will pull the harder things cheap for cash.

I don't know if it's a local thing or just BS but all the yards in my area U-Pull-It, and regular yards the first thing they say is "too old nothing over 10 years!"
