I wanna set of wider front beams for my Ranger, but I don't wanna have to shell out the thousands of dollars to buy a custom pair and everything. Are there any vehicles that I could swap in the front beams with to widen them? Or any other way I could widen them for fairly cheap.

I was thinking of maybe F150 beams but I dunno if they would fit and then it would be a different bolt pattern on the front.

F150 beams AND rear axle. It will take a little fab work but, It will get you wider.

Are there any vehicles that would be a direct swap and still have ranger bolt pattern?

Anyone know of a cheap way to extend??

Nope.

F-150 D44 TTB + it's rear 8.8 or 9, and you'll have matching lug patterns (and matching width).

D35 explorer front is about 2" wider than the D-28 that came stock in the '87. And a bunch stronger too! It is a direct bolt in (with tie rods) and has the same bolt pattern.

Thanks Pony and 4x4Junkie. Looks like Ill be on the lookout for a cheap exploder. Would the gears most likely be the same? I think mine are 3.73, I have the 2.9. Not only that but an explorer would have an 8.8 rear and I could maybe even find a decent 4L too. I feel some swaps coming.

There are different gears for both front ends from the factory. 3.73 was available in both.
