Rear Drive shaft question

I have a 2 piece rear shaft out of a 93 4x4 supercab. I have this posted for sale and I'm converting to a one piece shaft. The question being, I have a buyer interested who has a 89 4X4. Will this shaft fit that year truck? I'm trying to find out if the truck is a supercab. All info is very much appreciated!!

It would have to be a supercab. Have him measure his driveshaft and you measure yours. That would be the sure fire way for no mix ups. The flanges probably won't interchange but as long as the u-joints are the same width he can put his old flanges on your shaft. Some of the older Rangers had tiny driveshaft u-joints. I can't remember when they increased the width but if he has the small joints there are a few options. 1. hope the companion flanges on his truck are the same as yours. 2. If not he will be going to the junkyard to look for a bigger u-joint shaft for the flanges with his pattern. If that's the case then he should just get a shaft there because most junkyards won't separte the yokes from the shaft.

Now that someone has brought it up, I have a question about the flanges
if anyone has experience with this:

I have a one-piece driveshaft from an '04 FX4 coming my way, and it has the
3" flange on it instead of the 2.5" I need to mount up to my 1994 T-Case. If
I can pull the yoke from my old two-piece and mount it on the new one-piece
it will save me the hassle of trying to dig up the right bits at the local wrecker. It hasnt shown up yet so I can compare them the old fashioned way...

If anyone knows, share with the group would ya?

The u-joints are bigger on the one-piece shaft, the yoke will not swap (unless you use a "conversion" u-joint).
The flange on the t-case can be swapped for the bigger one however.


On the original Q here, the '93 S/C shaft should fit a '89 S/C, except the rear axle flange is smaller on the '89, the rear driveshaft flange would need to be swapped (if the original '89 part is available, IIRC it should work on the '93 shaft).
