What's the bolt size for the main crankshaft pulley? I can't get a damn thing to fit right.

It's 21 mm. Just got done doing some work that involved pulling the harmonic balancer.

21 MM is the head size. He needs the trhead diameter as well as the trhead count and total bolt length.

Mine is a 1985 Ranger with the 2.3L and it came without a lot of the bolts on the front of the engine, the crankshaft pulley bolt being one of them. What I found fit mine is 14mm with 1.5 thread pitch, the one I bought today is 40mm long and threads all the way into the crank. Now to build a washer for it. I hope this helps someone out.

edit: I changed the 40mm out for the 50mm, see reply below.
edit 2: found the original bolt and washer, its 40mm long and the original washer is about 3/16" thick.

I built a 1/4 inch thick washer and discovered that the 40mm bolt would only thread in a little more than a half inch so I went and bought the 50mm length bolt today. The 55mm length bolt had a longer shank and I wasn't sure if it would hit the end of the threads in the crank. The shank on the 60mm was way too long.
If anyone is interested, the washer I made it 38mm which is just under 1 1/2 inches in diameter. It fits inside the crank pulley with just a bit of clearance and is about even with the notches in the pulley.
